Meet Gbemisola, a Nigerian-based artist and a lover of art and creativity, who uses digital art to reshape narratives and retell African stories the way they should be told.

A short note about self:

I’m a lover of art and creativity. I use digital art to reshape narratives and retell African stories the way they should be told.

How did you start your journey as an artist?:

Creative arts has always been my first love but I started professionally as a performing artist but later shifted to creative arts (digital) with graphics and motion graphic design.

How was your parents’ reception to your craft when you first started?:

My parents encouraged me to do art as a hobby/talent but never saw it as something to call a real job. So they asked me to pursue a career in mass Communications which I did.

Share a funny experience that has happened to you in your career journey:

There have been many but I can’t remember one right now

Which Nigerian artist do you look up to in the industry?

Mayowa Lawal

Pablo Picasso or Leonardo Da Vinci, you can’t have both. Who is your favorite artist and why?

Da Vinci. His creativity.
